In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated September 8, 2001 No. 483, a commemorative date “Library Day” was established on the day of the foundation of the National Library of the Republic of Belarus (September 15, 1922). In commemoration of this event, the head of the Institute of the Investigative Committee congratulated the staff of the state institution “Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus” on this event. The event continued with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Institute of the Investigative Committee and the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus. The purpose of the agreement is to cooperate between the parties in the field of information activities, to provide conditions for expanding the access of employees of the Institute of the Investigative Committee to information resources, to exercise their rights to receive information and other materials stored in the library’s collections. The Institute has long maintained close business relations with the library. Using the materials stored in the funds of the institution, two expositions were prepared containing information about the activities of investigative bodies on the territory of Belarus in various historical periods.
